SHUTURP began in 2015 when I created an instagram account for my art. I chose “shuturp” because shutup was taken and I was probably in a bad mood. During a pretty rough time in my life, my art was the only thing that made me happy. It allowed me to express my feelings without having to speak and more importantly it took my mind off the bad stuff. I never thought about having my own business and honestly didn’t EVER think I would be a full-time artist but I started to take it seriously when I realised people were paying attention.
I used all the money I had to make a run of shirts using the cheapest company I could find, I set up a free website and crossed my fingers.
I could say the rest is history but it wasn’t that easy..
